The Rogue Show – Episode 013 – Add2Basket
If I look at The Rogue Podcast No.13, it’s definitely an unlucky number. This was the hardest episode to put together. When you come to the point where you want to show the world all the good music you have, especially if there’s a lot of non-club music you want to share and include in 74-80 minutes… well… it’s never been easy. All my previous mixes have been made with the same concept. I always want to add something extra. Something that can make my mix a bit different from the hundreds of new mixes you can grab every day, be it a great opener or a few chill songs at the end. This one was made with the same idea. I started with the most beautiful song of 2011 (Gang Gang Dance – Glass Jar) and included 2 chill from a Swedish and Greek band at the end of the journey. Anyway, long story short, this is just another piece of me with songs that you could rarely hear mixed together within 74 minutes. Please don’t skip through, hear it at full length. That’s the best way to enjoy it!

Just in time for New Year’s Eve jams, Luke Fair held down the fort and delivered your favourite progressive house podcast before the calendar turned over.
It was an incredible year for Luke. With new management and a new level of inspiration, he was on fire in the booth and studio.
Live sets circulated from Club Slovenia and Toronto proved he’s still one of the best club DJs on the planet. His consistent flow of promo sets continued to have fans entertained for hours on end and his ever-growing collection of original and remix production solidified Luke as one of the most well-rounded talents in the underground.
2012 is shaping up to be another phenomenal campaign with Luke set to release another handful of sensational tracks and of course he’ll most certainly be performing in a nightclub near you. Just do yourself a favour and be there when he is.

Our summer solace is over. It’s back to work for The Rogue Show as Luke Fair and Add2Basket bring to you the 11th episode of their genre-defining podcast. Funky progressive house has always been about fun and fresh sounds. It’s what the guys strive to provide each and every instalment, and it’s what you have here in this first episode of fall 2011.
Coming off an outstanding appearance at Club Honey inside Sundance Park in Hungary, The Rogue Show is in prime form.
Add2Basket starts off with a compilation of light-hearted progressive house gems. It includes some quirky moments alongside many emotional dance floor selections. Andrew’s totally immersed in his craft these days. He’s revived Add2Basket Records with its 55th release, he’s launching a new radio show called Neston and Andrew’s a contributor to Desyn Masiello’s Faciendo project. Add2Basket’s totally in the groove, this mix is definite proof.
Luke Fair is back to his road warrior ways. Joe Saltiel of Nightlaw Artist & DJ Agency has Luke globetrotting like never before, including an epic tour of Australia that has him digging deep into his progressive roots. Of course everything’s still on the house tip, but you can tell in this podcast and in his exclusive for inthemix.com, Luke’s been catering to his strong Aussie fan base. It’s super exciting for his progressive-loving crew in Toronto, because we have him here next.

The concept of why we value the number 10 so much is pretty basic… we have 10 fingers and 10 toes. Through this simple fact, we measure importance in multiples of 10. In the case of The Rogue Show Podcast, 10 episodes symbolize a collective effort seemingly paying off.
The numbers tell the story. In the past 14 months we have almost 40,000 subscribers and 125,000 downloads. Our followers span virtually every country in the world that has population-wide access to electricity.
But figures aside and most importantly, Luke Fair and Add2Basket have assembled a collection of 10 timeless moments inspired by their entire careers. Something they’ll always be able to look back on and be proud of. And visually we can look at the gallery and know each episode means something more because of the inventiveness of Jason Warth Designs.
We’re super happy to have taken a conference idea and have made it into something that has reached the status of the perfect 10. I think that’s rare in amongst that madness. But thankfully we’re not done here.
On to 20, 30 and hopefully many more, because for as long as we’re around, only the best of deep funky progressive house will be featured on The Rogue Show, and that’s fantastic no matter what number we’re on.

After a little summer break with the podcast, I couldn’t wait to put the milestone episode 10 together. Every actual episode turns out my favourite of all, so has this one. This turned out to be another story teller mix. With simply browsing it you won’t get the message, so you better give it a full listen from the beginning to the end. A bit of everything again , intelligent house music, some cosmic disco, a kick ass funk tune (coming out on Add2Basket Records) even a big beat track and a beautiful indie song at the very end. Miami, there’s no other place we would have rather have been. Unfortunately three of the four of us didn’t go and were left to live vicariously through the texts, tweets and facebook posts of those living it up at Miami Music Week.
We knew the best live music on the planet was spun on South Beach, but we wanted to provide a little something to those who were still at home counting on a cool download to get them through the i-cannot-believe-i-am-not-in-miami blues.

The Rogue Show Podcast returns to awaken you from your winter slumber or enhance your summer fun. Wherever you are in this world, Episode 007 will do the trick for those yearning for warm, classic house vibes, as we are here in North America buried under mounds of crisp white snow.
It’s not easy to put together fresh and funky mixes these days. As we physically can’t get out from underneath the cold weather, the house obsessed struggle to dig their tunes out from under piles and piles of dark techno and festival-sized electro. Bomb hunting trips take twice as long to find half as many selections. Frustration can run high for artists like Luke Fair and Add2Basket who are determined to maintain their Roguish style.
But as they do with each new episode, The Rogue Show has come through with two promos that satisfy the groovy desires of me and you. Their music throws back to our roots, when the dance floor was filled with happy faces and smooth moves. So as the cliché goes… turn it up! Luke Fair kicks things off with another retro sounding mix from his roots. It opens with some funky disco and transitions into chunky Chicago house-like selections, ending with another classic from our clubbing past. He solidifies his Rogue status with this mix… good times to the max!!
We absolutely love the funky progressive house in this set from Add2Basket. It totally rocked the btb Boxing Day party, catching ears with every track and literally getting the dance floor started in the middle of our living room. This episode is a must for your peak time rotations this New Year’s Eve!!

Add2Basket stretches his mix to full CD length taking us on a complete journey of everything this maestro has to offer. It has a live set feel with funk and groove, driving beats and tech and an epic early morning ending.
Digging deep into our after party vibe, Luke Fair travels back to the early morning / afternoon setting of Club 1000 with this super soulful progressive house offering. Written with a tear in my eye… this is the music of influence for the btb movement.

This is probably my favorite studio mix I’ve made in a few years as I absolutely love every single tune. There’s a lot of great vocals in it which is rare to find these days, combined with the usual disco and retro influences. The whole mix peaks at about 121 BPM then slows back down again towards the end.

The Rogue Show was a creation we always knew had the potential to become legendary, but we couldn’t be truly sure until we had experienced the new partnership in person and on the dance floor. Yes the promo mixes of the first two episodes of The Rogue Show Podcast seem to provide the blueprint for a perfect back to back set but how could we be certain the duo could maintain a flow with direction when going a couple on and a couple off all night? Many try, but few succeed.
Well these guys did… The Rogue Show is for real! What an absolutely incredible night of music. I mean a complete night of ALL of house music. Luke Fair & Add2Basket delved deep into the full spectrum of the house genre touching upon each and every emotion associated with the style for a proper underground journey. It’s what we crave and why we still throw parties.

Straight out the studio is a brand new podcast from The Rogue Show featuring two incredibly stubborn DJs, Luke Fair & Add2Basket. Two dudes who have the guts to always keep it fresh, keep it funky and actually keep it real!
Who do they think they are refusing to “œplay the hits,” turning their back on commercial appeal like they actually give a damn?! And where the hell are all the dark and soulless tunes?! Don’t these guys know today’s electronic music is all about monotony, not melody?!!
To make things worse they have a couple shifty accomplices by their side. First there’s this Jason Warth ‘Design Guy’… what the f-ck is he thinking making this renegade operation look so slick?! And of course there’s me, barney the big mouth, the guy who united these scoundrels so that I could have even more of the ‘rogue’ stuff to spam your inboxes with… (a sinister, hehe).
It really is a catastrophe. When this podcast takes off clubbers might remember what it’s like to smile when listening to house music. Things like groove and cool dance moves might be in demand once again. We all know relentless-aggressive-fist-pumping should never go… this revolution must be stopped!!

The Rogue Show – Episode 001 – Luke Fair
This mix was inspired by Miami a bit—more from the weather, settings and friends than from any music I heard. It starts off nice and chill, then builds up to some bigger melodic house stuff. Overall, this mix is fairly typical of my usual sound, but I definitely put a lot more thought than usual into the sequencing.

For the first episode, I have put together a mix that is more house-oriented than usual. I stayed clear of the Nu-Disco influences, but still tried to keep a disco vibe for the whole mix. I played many of these tracks live when Luke and I launched our Rogue Show residency in Budapest in April.
