Emjae - Organic Sessions 015

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

I first heard the tatted up Emjae at the Sick Watona party in Miami, and then again at Porterhouse where he ripped a hole right out of the middle of the dance floor. His pumping Electro, Disco Funk style of House is super friendly to the dance floor. I found this and other very cool sets on www.organictheory.com.

Dana Bergquist - Through The Looking Glass

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Dana BergquistFor as much as I try to avoid the jungle that is the Guverment, I may brave it again during their 11th Anniversary weekend. Not for Carl Cox or for the debut of the disgustingly popular producer-turned-DJ, Eric Prydz. I may venture back into the darkness for Eric’s hand picked ‘Pryda North American Tour’ warm-up DJ, fellow Swede, Dana Bergquist.

Dana’s productions are all over the sets of my favorite DJs and his Deep House mixes are played over and over and over again in our pad. He’s the perfect set up man for any DJ, and I’m so pumped that Prydz recognizes this because Dana is going to get some mad exposure on this tour.

Lucas Abadi - Basic Frequencies

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

Yesterday, I had an excellent afternoon. I coasted through a busy day at my desk, and as it wound down I listened to this incredible mix by Lucas Abadi on one my favorite internet radio shows.

As I waited for the broadcast on Basic Frequencies I totally did my best to play this mix out. But really that was never going to happen. Actually, it sounded even better yesterday as the masses enjoyed it for the first time. Lucas is back to his impeccable Funky House form with this one… so solid.

Niall Kirk - August 2007 Promo

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

This is the pleasant surprise of the year so far. Niall Kirk sent us a mix quite a while back and we instantly shared it on the site. Unfortunately for us - definitely not for him - Niall has been studying and traveling in Australia, so we haven’t heard much from him since that first promo.

He’s now settled down again in Dublin and is resident at Housejunkies, a weekly that has hosted the likes of Switch, Zoo Brazil and Greg Vickers… nice company. So after way too long a wait, here’s round Number 2 with Niall Kirk on bringthebeats.

Kosmas Epsilon - August 2007 Promo

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

I first heard of Kosmos Epsilon in 2004 through a friend who I absolutely respect when it comes to fresh, underground beats. He passed on Kosmos’ Proton ‘Featured Artist’ mix with a stellar recommendation.

Ever since I’ve searched out Kosmos Epsilon sets as he’s one of the few DJs that has been able to maintain the “Communicate” style of progressive that I was completely addicted to back on the day I first checked into his sound.

Tom Morgan - August 2007 Promo

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Tom Morgan is for sure on the rise. He’s spent almost the entire summer in Ibiza, a most excellent place for Tom’s groove. Plus he’s a partner in one of the Net’s coolest new digital labels Discoteca… “Digital CD bombs with vinyl soul,” enough said.

This promo is one of the best I’ve heard from him; super funky, great pace… just perfect for the beachside venues I bet he’s been totally killing over the past few months.

DJ Fountain - The Groove Collection

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

Here’s a mix that has been hidden in the comments of one of our posts. Some of you may have found it earlier, but since this DJ Fountain Groove Collection set is so good, we thought it deserved a little push in one of the posts as well.

I can’t help but smile when I think about how awesome this dude was to hang around with in Miami. And now to hear back-to-back stellar mixes from Fountain, well that’s what the conference is all about. Enjoy.

John Do - Basic Frequencies on Proton

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

Here’s another deep selection from another one of our musical obsessions, John Do. It’s been a while since we’ve hosted a mix of John’s and I’m super pleased that now we are, it’s a mix fit for summer. This down-tempo beauty is perfect for cocktails on the patio.

Neil Quigley - May Promo 2007

Sunday, June 17th, 2007

Neil QuigleyOne of our absolute favorite DJs right now, the UK’s Neil Quigley. His melodic Deep House sound has manipulated my headphones for weeks on end.

Neil’s uniquely mature approach to music– through the Urbantorque label and radio show on Proton – will pay off with an unlimited amount of success for Neil in the future, we’re sure of it.  This promo is no exception to his awesome talent.

Ariel G & Jesse Perez - Darker Shades

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

Ariel G along with his partner Jesse Perez head up Behold Recordings out of Miami, Fla. The label has had many releases featured on the Balance Top 40 and sports the likes of Jeff Bennett, Saeed Younan and G-Pal.

Ariel hosted the Sick Watona event, one of the coolest poolside parties I’ve ever been to at the Conference. I unfortunately missed his set there, and after listening to this mix that aired on Naveen’s Proton show, I regret it even more.

Leonardo Donato - Promo Mix - May 2007

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

Leonardo DonatoIt’s been a while since we hosted our first mix from Leonardo Donato, but as you will hear, it was well worth the wait for a second. His style is best described as a blend of Funky House, Tech, Electro and Progressive.

Leo has the Feedback groove, but maintains a distinctive sound with thick rubber-like baselines and the sexiest of melodies – pure dance music. He’s one of the Argentineans we’ve yet to me in person, but hopefully will soon (while he’s in the booth and we’re on the dance floor).

Naveen G - Promo Mix - Post WMC 2007

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

Naaven G is one of Feedback’s newest additions and since the WMC he’s become one of our favourite up and coming artists. ‘Up and coming’ is a bit deceiving as Naveen has been in the game for a long time. He’s a stellar DJ and producer with a seemingly fearless desire to promote his sound.

Naveen’s Darker Shades show on Proton Radio shows love to the deeper, darker side of electronic music. He’s definitely one of the only DJs out there that can play something minimal and get me moving.
