Luke Fair live and interactive on blogTV.ca
Sunday, May 13th, 2007
I’m resurrecting this post as we have some really exciting content to add to it.
On February 2, 2007 bringthebeats hosted a landmark event for the Canadian Electronic Dance Music industry. One of the world’s top DJ talents, Toronto’s Luke Fair, performed live within the intimate confines of the ultra stylish It’s Not a Deli in the heart of Toronto’s Art and Design District.
EDM fans across Canada had the opportunity to catch the performance as the entire event was streamed live on blogTV.ca as part of the website’s national introduction to the online community. The broadcast was the first of its kind anywhere in the world.
All ticket proceeds from this sold out event (over $2000!!!) was donated to the Yonge Street Mission.
On with the new / good stuff…

What an incredible night it was-it had everything that makes a perfect dancing night- from the people-this is the best crowd that I ever have the pleasure of sharing the dancefloor with- to the comfortable environment, to the amazing music. It was truly a special night, and a real treat to see Luke play for us in an intimate venue.
As usual, I was dancing front and centre, taking just a few moments here and there to chat. At one point I was by the bar area taking to Chris, but had to run back to the dancefloor right away as I heard ‘Skinny (M-Factor Remix / Dub Edit)’ –I think it’s the third track on the Lithuania mix. I love it and was so happy to hear it! I also really liked that remix of Pump up the Jam (never heard it before). Luke’s set was awesome-it had all those moments, one after another, full of anticipation and surprise, a fusion of energy and emotions taking us to that other place-wow. What made the night even more special was that two of my closest friends in Vancouver were watching the performance on BlogTV, and it felt great to have that connection with them (I always think of them when I am dancing).
I left ‘It’s Not a Deli’ not walking, but floating, my soul fulfilled, still hearing the music. Thank you to bringthebeats and Luke for an unforgettable night.

Oh man, what perfect place to have a party. Cozy, private, and best of all, Luke Fair! I’m thinking of making the road trip out to Jacksonville this weekend to go see him, but we’ll see how it goes. The video was amazing, by the way… I didn’t want it to end!

Just saw Luke over the weekend in NYC at the Sullivan Room. All I can say is WOW! Three hour set and he never let up. Started off with the groovy and funky house that we have all come to expect from him. Track after track just made you want to keep dancing. Went a little deep and proggressive towards the middle (just how I like it). And ended off just as nice as he started. Played several tracks from his new album and the flow of the night was nothing short of perfect. Keep up the great work Luke!!!
