Luke Fair | Balance 11
Monday, April 30th, 2007
EQ Recordings continues the tradition of premium quality electronic music with its next edition of the well-received Balance Series. Canadian DJ/ Producer Luke Fair will be working his magic on Balance 11. He has carved quite a reputation for himself as a producer and passionately experimental DJ, making him the perfect choice to follow others such as James Holden, Chris Fortier, Phil K, Paolo Mojo, Desyn Masiello, Anthony Pappa and Jimmy Van M. Fair’s music can be described as groovy, funky, housy and techy all at the same time. He has created a signature style for himself by creating and re-editing versions of songs for his own sets. In the studio, his genre-crossing productions run the gamut from Dub House to melodic Progressive. His music has landed on every major radio show across the world, including BBC’s Radio 1 Essential Mix and Proton Radio, and his edits have graced the decks with DJs from Digweed to Morillo.
The Balance series has firmly established itself as one of the top choices for discerning music lovers who have a taste for cutting-edge music mixed by the world’s best, but not always recognized, DJs. Balance 11 will only serve to prove this once again, as Luke Fair grabs listeners with his diverse music and takes us on a funky, tripped-out journey.
Fair will bring his funky, chunky vibe to various cities on 4 continents in 2007, tearing the roof off of notable clubbing hot spots such as Pacha (Buenos Aires), Bedrock (London), Red Light (Paris), Space (Miami), Zouk (Singapore) and Womb (Tokyo) and so many others. In 2006 Luke debuted in Australia with a 5-city tour across the continent and continues to play massive festivals like Creamfields and Godskitchen’s Global Gathering in the UK.
“The mood of this mix captures the sound of an entire night at a club, a full set from open to close. Starting out with deep House, then playing funky House and Techno and continuing with melodic Progressive towards the end. Every track will be heavily edited to personalize the mix a bit more, with lots of layering to make the whole thing as colorful as possible.” - Luke Fair

Brilliant set as always. Really hoping the Balance 11 announcement is true, surely will be one of the best if not THE best of the series. Luke always seems to out do himself every time I see him play.

If Lithuania is one of Luke’s top 3 favourite gigs of 2006, I would have to imagine that either Buenos Aires and/or Cordoba would have to be one if not both of the other two. Listening to this makes me want to turn back the clock to the moment Gregor and I walked out of the arrivals gate in Cordoba. The bar has been set and waiting for the release of the Balance CD will not be easy.

I can only hope one or both of those sets are going to be available for download. I have listened to these Lithuania sets 4 times now, unbelievable stuff!

Thank you for the set! I’ve been listening to it a lot over the weekend, and the one thing that just kept going through my mind was how amazing it must have been to be part of that dancefloor on November 11th…but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to see Luke spin again here in Toronto.

I love it when I put a new cd in my car and then when I get to where Im going to I don’t want to get out of the car because the beats are keeping me from leaving…awesome set Luke! Its fresh, smooth and classy, true Luke Fair. I wish Luke would play in Toronto more but I guess the world is calling his name and thats a great thing. We just need to find a new venue so when Luke returns we can really party!

Luke Fair is the best dj in the world IMO, saw him many times here at Argentina, he always delivers, and the sets are 100% top stuff… An unique style and taste in music…
Cheers

What a killer set. Can’t wait until Luke graces Toronto with his precence…. can’t come too soon! Love to get a tracklist for this set- especially the song around the 38 minute mark on the first part!

I just finished listening to Luke’s Kiss 100 set and it completely blew my mind!! It’s good to hear some fresh funky sounds from time to time in between all the minimal that seems to be dominating the scene at the moment. I’m always surprised when I hear Luke’s sets, he has an amazing ear and manages to blend tracks flawlessly. I can’t wait to see him in Miami for his North American tour

I knew a long time ago Luke would be the best choice for a new Balance, and wow did he deliver. I was sooo excited to hear this cd, and when I finally did it was like being taken on a journey through a dark twisted night into a sunny day and back again. This really is a compliation of the best music out there. I asked Luke if when he hears his cd its like hearing all his favorite tracks put together and he said “yup pretty much” , I can only imagine the kind of satisfaction he gets from knowing his favorite music puts a smile on so many faces… thanks Luke, these 2 cd’s will have a permanent place at the top of my all time favorite cd list!
