Winter Music Conference ‘07 Promos Part 2
Wednesday, April 18th, 2007Finally we reached the end of our WMC coverage. Yes we’ve dragged this on for quite a while, but we couldn’t not take the chance to plug three fantastic DJs (and dudes) before we wrap things up.
We met Jerone – “DJ Fountain” – on day one, at the Proton Party. Jerone’s manager and I gabbed all night while Jerone worked the room as well as any DJ / producer I’ve ever seen. I came home with three DJ Fountain cards and figured that was a sign to contact these two wicked guys from Amsterdam as soon as possible. That wasn’t necessary, because on day two, at the Sick Watona party, we hooked up again and ended up packing them into the trunk, hijacking them to Luke’s gig at the Giant Hotel. I’m so glad we did because on the way he handed me this set and we’ve been hammering it ever since.

I’ve been talking to Tom Morgan for quite a few months now. I snagged a promo of his from mercuryserver and I instantly knew Tom was my kind of DJ. It was awesome to finally hook up at Luke’s Balance party, too bad I couldn’t understand much of what we talked about – bloody Scottish accents. Nevertheless, it was great to meet him and I’m sure if he keeps making promos like these, I’ll be seeing him again sometime very soon.

Our last highlight of the WMC of 2007 is a friend we met at our first Conference. Since that week in 2004 Steve Graham has come a long way. With his thriving production company TampaHouseMusic.com, Steve’s made something out of virtually nothing in terms of a House scene in the Tampa area. And his relentless passion for the music is really starting to shine through in his promo sets. An example is this wicked mix broadcast on Proton’s DjsInbox presents Solid Sessions which aired the first night of the Conference. It’s a great set and a fitting way to close the book on one of the best WMC’s ever.

Thank you so much for the kind words and also including my mix in the WMC promo section along with the other tremendous dj’s highlighted here! And extra special thanks for making such great sets available for us house heads to grab and enjoy. I hope everyone enjoys this set, and all feedback is very much welcomed. I also really appreciate DJsInbox headman Mark Kovach for the opportunity to have my mix aired on Proton Radio in which 500+ listeners tuned in that night.
WMC ‘-07 may be over, but that just means it’s almost time to start planning for WMC ‘08!!!
see you all there!

I finally got a chance to listen to this mix and Im glad I did, I found it very smooth, loved all the vocal tracks, I think they gave the set a lot of emotion.. and I totally remember driving through Miami, Jermone saying you have to hear this track from the trunk… we loved it!

Thank you all for your great support!!
I will never forget our drive through Miami Area in the trunk, with the live comments on the tracks and three girls in front of me smoothly banging their heads…
Had a great time in Miami and looking forward to next year, or maybe earlier
Love, Fountain
