Josh Wink is officially the DJ that got me into this madness – back in ’99 when a crew of us from Browntown blazed into The Toronto Congress Center to experience our first official underground party – Dose’s Six Year Anniversary. It was Daft Punk that was the initial hook to this “rave” but it was Josh Wink that has had a few of us from that night coming back for more and more and more and more and more….
He’s an absolute industry legend with a production list a mile long. ‘Higher State Of Consciousness’ and ‘How’s Your Evening So Far?’ can be found on a truckload of comps and the build in ‘Are You Ready To Fly?’ remains one of my favorites of all time.
Resident Advisor interviewed Wink and talked about his comeback – though I didn’t realize he went anywhere – and he was the ‘chosen one’ to close out Radio 1’s coverage of WMC 2006. Pete Tong hits it right on the nose calling this one “INTENSE” – get it.
